Kelly Williams not only fronts a band in his spare time, but also brings 15 years of industry service to the Dot Dot Dot kitchen. Kelly uses his background from working in kitchens all over the world (Momofuku Noodle Bar in East Village, NYC, Amass Restaurant in Copenhagen, Denmark to Kindred, Haberdish, Rooster’s and Foxcroft Wine Co. here in Charlotte) to use various techniques and cuisines that allow him to synthesize and convey ideas in a fresh way. These fresh ideas are why he loves working with local purveyors, like Boy and Girl Farm, that aren’t afraid to take chances on produce that others might not. It’s these chances that make his food here at Dot Dot Dot so exciting.
Kelly’s love for cooking began when he was growing up and he helped his grandmother in the kitchen. He discovered it was his professional calling later while in college. He was cooking professionally to support himself in school when he realized that cooking gave him everything he needed and was seeking for in an education: the tactile stimulation that he sought from music was there in the kinetic nature of kitchen work, and the cultural and anthropological richness that he appreciated about studying history was there in the stories of the cuisines and the cultures that they come from.
